Selina is a dedicated yogini and is committed to a positive lifestyle and well-being, which she loves to share with her students.

Selina began practising yoga with her mum when she was 15 years old. After a few years of casual practice, she tried a power yoga class with a friend at the Auckland Yoga Academy and felt an immediate connection with the practice.

This connection grew deeper when she observed the valuable and enriching effects on her life ‘off the mat’ – physically, mentally and emotionally. As a result of this, Selina went on to complete a 2-year apprenticeship at the Auckland Yoga Academy, comprising 2,000 hours of intensive training in classes with real students and culminating in registration as a Yoga Alliance 500 hours yoga teacher (RYT 500 hours) in 2009. In January 2014, she gained accreditation as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200 hours), and in February 2019, she received the highest level of accreditation from the Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500 hours). Selina is a legacy ambassador to the Takapuna Lululemon store.

Selina is experienced in teaching private classes (whether one-on-one or with small groups).

The story behind The Travelling Yogini

The idea for The Travelling Yogini was conceived on a balmy summer's night at the opening of a swanky new bar. We got in because our friend was on the door. My weekly class at a global advertising company had been running for 2.5 years and I was itching to get back to regular teaching after being on maternity leave. (Incidentally, I had bumped into those very same students in the previous incarnation of this bar, and they had been shocked to see me out late and drinking wine!)

An impromptu brainstorming session commenced over cucumber cocktails, oysters and pinot gris; thus, The Travelling Yogini was born.
